A little about me

Danielle Baril, RN

I live in Strathcona County on an acreage with my husband and our two children. Family and home are a big part of my life, as is music, and I spent many years teaching piano and still believe in the connection music can create between people.

For roughly 24 years I've worked as a Registered Nurse, primarily in Emergency Departments and Public Health across the Edmonton area. Those years gave me a deep familiarity with people and families in vulnerable, uncertain and frightening moments and with how much difference a calm presence can make.

Becoming an end-of-life doula grew from a wish to offer something more personal than a shift allows: unhurried time, real conversation, and support shaped around each person's wishes. My approach centres on compassion, empathy, guidance, dignity and respect.

Nursing background, doula role

Clinical experience, non-clinical care

My nursing background means medical language, hospital systems and difficult prognoses aren't unfamiliar territory, and I can help you make sense of what you're hearing and prepare the questions worth asking.

Doula support itself is non-medical. I don't provide nursing care, medication or clinical advice. I work alongside your healthcare team, offering the presence, planning and emotional support that often falls outside their reach.

Kind words

Danielle brings a rare combination of deep empathy, spiritual attunement, and hard-earned practical experience. With a nurse's wisdom and a mother's heart, she offers calm, grounded presence. She carries both competence and compassion - qualities that will undoubtedly support those navigating uncertain times.
